Visiting Assisi, Perugia, Cascia,  Roccaporena, and The Fantastic Eternal City AMAZING ROME!

Day 1

Friday – March 15th

Departure by Airmalta flight KMO 612 to Rome at 07.30am.  Group must be at the airport at   5am.   On our arrival in  Rome  we set off for  the centre of this magnificent  capital  city allowing us to stop in strategic places  where we  may have the opportunity  to  admire on foot certain Tourist attractions.   This is the best comfortable way to visit this busy Capital City. The coach  travels along with us and picks us up where  we  are are given permission. There will also be  some time for a hasty snack or pizza .  Rome is best admired on foot  but , being so huge  we  are   being guided  to do it  moving around on  coach as well , so as not to tire  ourselves out. On the fixed time given by Tour Leader  we proceed to our comfortable Hotel in Rivotorto  near Assisi. We take our rooms and  then  we meet for our delicious dinner. 

Day 2

Saturday – March 16th

After our buffet breakfast we shall  leave for a most interesting  tour of the  surrounding area. This region is referred to as the green heart of Italy. Umbria is famous for the supreme beauty of the countryside, its unique small Mediaeval villages and the excellent  food the whole area has to offer. Today we visit Assisi with its laid back atmosphere  and the picturesque narrow winding roads. We shall go straight to the world famous Basilica and admire what is still left from the last earthquake that threatened its destruction. This is the City of Peace, and you really breathe serenity and peace everywhere .Dedicated to Saint Francis , the Patron Saint of Italy , Assisi is a real gem in the Religious and Historic  Culture .,Tradition, and  artistic beauty of the whole country.. We shall also be visiting San Damiano and Santa Chiara  and later on in the afternoon  there will be a stop at  the well known Santa Maria degli Angeli. A  mouth- watering dinner awaits us at our very comfortable Hotel in the evening

Day 3

Sunday – March 17th

Today  after our  buffet  breakfast we set out for the wonderful Cascia  which  immediately  brings to  our mind THE GREAT Santa Rita that has always inspired great DEVOTION.  Visiting  her Basilica ( time to hear Mass as well)  and then  proceeding to Roccaporena  her birthplace  will be like living a fairy  Tale.  The vast  rocky  pyramid  that dominates  the village  of Roccaporena  has  been called “The  Sacred Rock”.  Thousands come here to venerate  Lo  Scoglio  di Santa Rita.  In  some places the water  runs through  canyon  like gorges.  A day spent in  beautiful  country where we  might also stop to buy  local  products to take home  with us.

Day 4

Monday – March 18th

After our buffet breakfast we shall leave for Perugia   The  Splendid University city of Perugia awaits us later on in the day. This is the capital town of the Umbria Region and dominates from the top of a hill like many  other towns in this region over a magnificent panorama. A stroll along the main street will lead us to the busy centre where many will be lured by the elegant shops and authentic piazzas. Chocolate lovers  will discover the well known  BACI PERUGINA  in  their place of origin!!!!A MUST TRY and the best souvenir  one can  take home for his/her  loved ones. On our way back to our Hotel, time permitting , we might stop at a big Commercial Centre for some shopping.

Day 5

Tuesday – March 19th

After  our buffet breakfast  today we take up our luggage and  leave the Hotel  on our way  to visit the Famous Cascate delle Marmore that are open only on Sundays for visitors. A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE for young and old.  A great opportunity to witness their great beauty. This will definitely fill up our day with great emotions .., before continuing on our way to Fiumicino airport . We  will return to Malta  late in the evening . EXACT TIME OF ARRIVAL  in Malta  on  KM  615   will be given when  new schedule of AirMalta  timings will   be issued
