Visiting the Famous Pearls of APULIA – Alberobello, Grotte di Castellana, Fasano Zoo Safari, Lecce,  Monopoli, Bari,  Polignano a Mare, Ostuni etc.

Day 1

Friday – September 15th

Departure on Airmalta flight KM 640 to Catania at 5.40am. Group has to reach airport by 3:15am.  On arrival in Catania at 6:20am, we board our coach GRAN TURISMO and proceed for a quick breakfast, before starting our way to Cisternino. This town lies in the Itria valley in the province of Brindisi and is very famous for its art treasures. After crossing the strait of Messina, we proceed further up, allowing a stop for lunch and other stops as needed. On arrival in our luxury Four-star hotel, we are given our rooms, after which we can enjoy the delicious dinner awaiting us in the Hotel restaurant.

Day 2

Saturday – September 16th

After our Buffet breakfast today, we shall set out for Alberobello where we visit the world famous Trulli. Be prepared to explore and enjoy moving around these unique dwellings. Souvenir shopping will be a delight for most of us. A mouth-watering lunch awaits us, and then, . After  some time to relax  late afternoon  we can proceed to Locorotondo. This is an amazingly scenic place from which we can survey the spectacular countryside around. Walking to the limit of this hill-top town, it is so easy to find the small Centro Storico and the small street that encircles its highest point, offering spectacular panoramic views. Locorotondo’s sparkling white wine is well-renowned in Italy. For a good tasting session go straight to the source, the famous Cantina Sociale. After this, we will visit the most beautiful Borgo in Italy. Following this full day, an appetising dinner will comfort us at our Grand Hotel.

Day 3

Sunday – September 17th

We shall enjoy our buffet breakfast and be ready to start on an exceptional excursion to the important port city of Bari, the capital of Southern Italy’s Puglia Region. Surrounded by narrow streets the 11th century Basilica  of San Nicola, a key pilgrimage site, holds some of Saint Nicola’s remains.  To the south  the Murat Quarter has stately 19th century  architecture, a promenade and pedestrianised shopping areas. Lunch a waits us in our comfortable Hotel.  This late afternoon or evening we may enjoy  Polignano a Mare, the birthplace  of the famous Italian singer Domenico Modugno

Day 4

Monday – September 18th

After breakfast we set out for the famous Grotte di Castellana, one of the attractions of the Puglia Region. These are a national heritage of inestimable value to Italy. These spectacular caves were formed more than 100 million years ago. After an optional lunch near the famous Grotte  . We  leave for Fasano Zoo  Safari,  which will  be an exceptional attraction for young and old alike. !!!. An  experience like no other. Just prepare your cameras to treasure all these memories when you are backhome. . We shall savour the tempting dinner that awaits us in the Hotel this evening.(this is the only day when we have halfboard in Hotel)

Day 5

Tuesday – September 19th

After breakfast we start on our way to the famous city of Lecce in the southern Apulia region known for its baroque buildings .. Lecce has been nicknamed  the Firenze of the South.   In the central  Piazza del Duomo the Cathedral of Lecce has a double façade  and a bell Tower. The Basilica of Santa Croce  features sculptures and  a rose window. This is a central location for exploring the whole of the Salento , the main city of this peninsula. A must visit for its great importance.  A delicious lunch awaits us in our Hotel .  After some rest  we leave for Ostuni  the well renowned white washed  city that attracts so many  tourists  for its unique beauty

Day 6

Wednesday – September 20th

After our last buffet breakfast in Hotel  we board our coach with all our luggage to Start on our way to  Catania with a few stops on the way, one of which will be to have Lunch. We need to be at Catania airport at 8.45pm. Our scheduled departure is at 11.25pm (23.25) on KM 643. Arrival in Malta is expected to be at 00:04
