Visiting the Famous Pearls of APULIA – Alberobello, Grotte di Castellana, Fasano Zoo Safari, Bari, Polignano a Mare, Lecce etc. Comfortable Resort Hotel in Monopoli, Puglia

Day 1

Thursday – September 28th

Departure on Airmalta flight KM 640 to Catania at 6.00am.  Group has to reach airport by 3:30am.  On arrival in Catania at 6:40am, we board our coach Gran Turismo and proceed for a quick breakfast, before starting our way to Monopoli.  This town lies in the Itria valley in the province of Brindisi and is very famous for its art treasures.  After crossing the strait of Messina, we proceed further up, allowing a stop for lunch and other stops as needed.  On arrival in our luxury Resort hotel, we are given our rooms, after which we can enjoy the delicious dinner awaiting us in the Hotel restaurant.  Music and animation is for all near the pools after dinner.

Day 2

Friday – September 29th

After our  buffet breakfast   we shall leave for the famous Grotte di Castellana  that are definitely a must visit being a  really world wonder .Formed millions of years ago they attract so many tourists from all over the world. They are a national heritage of inestimable value to Italy. We return for our delicious mouth watering lunch in Hotel.  Later on in the afternoon we shall leave for Alberobello where we visit the world famous Trulli.  Be prepared to explore and enjoy moving around these unique dwellings.  Souvenir shopping will be a delight for most of us.  Following this full day, an appetising dinner will comfort us at our Resort Hotel and those who wish may join in the fun provide by the Hotel’s Animation Team.

Day 3

Saturday – September 30th

After breakfast we start on our way to the famous city of Lecce in the southern Apulia region known for its baroque buildings.  Lecce has been nicknamed the Firenze of the South.  In the central Piazza del Duomo the Cathedral of Lecce has a double façade and a bell Tower.  The Basilica of Santa Croce features sculptures and a rose window.  This is a central location for exploring the whole of the Salento, the main city of this peninsula.  A must visit for its great importance.  Today lunch will be paid for as we need to take longer for our excursion.  This is the only day when we have half board in   our  Hotel. 

Day 4

Sunday – October 1st

AFTER buffet breakfast this morning   we set out  the famous  Zoo Safari  in  Fasano.This is a great attraction for young and old. An experience like no other..Just get ready for some special excitement and get your cameras  ready Polignano a Mare  the birth place of  Domenico  Modugno  the  famous Italian singer  will welcome us in the afternoon after  dinner   A   really beautiful  town   that will enchant each one of us. A  special photo with the big statue of this famous Italian singer is highly recommended. We shall savour the  tempting  dinner that awaits us in the  evening on our return  to our Resort

Day 5

Monday – October 2nd

We shall enjoy our buffet breakfast and be ready to start on an exceptional excursion to the important port city of Bari, the capital of Southern Italy’s Puglia Region. Surrounded by narrow streets the 11th century Basilica of San Nicola, a key pilgrimage site, holds some of Saint Nicola’s remains.  To the south, the Murat Quarter has stately 19th century architecture, a promenade and pedestrianised shopping areas.  Lunch awaits us in our comfortable hotel.  Time to relax in the hotel pools today and join in the animation as organised by the Animation Team.  Dinner will provide us with some good time together later on in the evening.

Day 6

Tuesday – October 3rd

After our last buffet breakfast in hotel we board our coach with all our luggage to Start on our way to Catania with a few stops on the way, one of which will be to have lunch.  We need to be at Catania airport at 8:45pm. Our scheduled departure is at 11:25pm (23:25) on KM 643.  Arrival in Malta is expected to be at 00:04.
