Saturday – March 26th
Group meets at 4.45 a.m at Malta International Airport for check in on flight KM 0514 leaving for Vienna at 07.10 On arrival in Vienna at 9.30 am we shall leave for BUDAPEST allowing a stop for a quick lunch. On reaching the Hungarian Capital, so often referred to as “Paris of the East”. We are taken on a panoramic city tour of this famous, spectacular city. Time permitting we will first stop to change into some Hungarian money in the centre where we can get the best rates. This is the city crossed by 8 most important bridges. The superb River Danube dominates the whole ROMANTIC setting of this majestic capital, relaxing and glorious at the same time because every stone here boasts its own piece of history. We shall drive along the Famous Andrassy Ut and enter the grand Heroes’ Square. A warm welcome awaits us later in our luxury four-star Health Spa Resort in Budapest, where we take up our and enjoy some free time before we meet for our delicious Buffet Dinner. The Hotel SPA, recreational centre and pools are there for us to enjoy and relax.
Sunday – March 27th
After our buffet breakfast in hotel, we set out on a full day excursion to the fascinating Danube Bend (Dunakanyar). Just 20 km outside Budapest, the unique baroque village of Szentendre welcomes us among so many other tourists. A walk along the picturesque, quaint roads of Szentendre will allow time for souvenir and other shopping. Our next stop after Szentendre is Visegrád, a long-time fortress. From its top we enjoy a most spectacular view. We will enjoy a delicious lunch (optional) in a typical Hungarian Restaurant The coach will then take us to Esztergom (Rome of the Hungarians) where we visit the Cathedral, the Porta Spreciosa, Szechenyl Square and the quaint narrow roads of the historic centre. Here we shall also have the opportunity to reach the frontier with Slovakia, the country on the other side of the Danube. After another unforgettable day we go for our dinner in our comfortable hotel.
Monday – March 28th
After our buffet breakfast today we set out for the Closed City market visited by so many important people, tourists and foreign delegations visiting Hungary on official visits. The whole iron structure here was built by Gustave Eiffel , the same who built Tour Eiffel in Paris. Time for souvenir shopping and other local Hungarian products, at very reasonable prices – you get them as cheap as the local people. From here we shall move on to the famous Cittadella to enjoy the superb view of Budapest and the fantastic Danube River whilst enjoying the huge statue of Liberty built to commemorate the freedom from Communism. We shall then proceed to the famous Castle district with its famous Fisherman’s Bastions. We shall then end up our day with an unforgettable Danube Cruise. This will bring closer all that we have seen about this fantastic town to celebrate the end of a most enjoyable day!!!
Tuesday – March 29th
After our buffet breakfast today we set out for the famous St. Stephen’s Cathedral, an opportunity to visit another very important square in Budapest. So imposing on the outside, inside this Cathedral is indeed a famous work of art with its inestimable great organ. Outside, the big piazza will provide the background for so many of our group photos. After this a stop at Vaci Utca , the hub of the popular Budapest, full of shops and attractions is a must , before we proceed to the most beautiful GODOLLO CASTLE, where Princess Sissi used to spend so much of her time when in Budapest. We shall then set out for the famous Hungarian Puszta where we are going to watch the best Horse show in Hungary. We also enjoy a typical Hungarian meal with the world-famous Hungarian goulash and other mouth–watering delicacies. All this is accompanied by local Hungarian country music. Fun for young and not so young is fully guaranteed. We will enjoy Budapest by night on our way back to our Hotel.
Wednesday – March 30th
This morning after buffet breakfast we shall prepare our luggage to leave our Hotel in Budapest. We will devote some time to our last shopping from a very big shopping centre in Budapest. Those who prefer, may opt to visit places of interest in the Hungarian capital, like for example the very famous Hungarian Parliament or other museums of their choice. In the afternoon we start on our way to Gyor where we spend our last night. We are in the centre of this beautiful town, surrounded by big monuments and piazzas. After we take up our rooms, we may have time for a stroll or some rest before we meet for our delicious dinner, trying to capture and prolong our last hours together as a group.
Thursday – March 31st
This morning after buffet breakfast we leave on our way to Vienna airport. AirMalta flight KM0515 is scheduled to leave Vienna at 10.40. Expected arrival in Malta at 12.55
