29th October – 3rd November 2021

Day 1

Friday – October 29th

Departure by Airmalta flight KMO 612 to Rome at 7:35. The group must be at the airport at 5:30am. On our arrival in Rome, we set off for Caserta where we are going to visit the famous Reggia or ROYAL PALACE often referred to as Naples? Versailles An enormous Palace that was built in the 18th century by Charles III King of Bourbon. Arriving at 13.30 we have enough time to visit the gardens and beautiful parks before we start visiting the royal apartments at 3pm. We shall proceed to our hotel in Sorrento where on arrival we are given our rooms. Later on, we meet for dinner and enjoy some free time later.

Day 2

Saturday – October 30th

After our buffet breakfast, we shall leave for Naples, starting with a most interesting panoramic tour of this magnificent city. We shall then go straight to the hub of this glorious city and enjoy Piazza Plebiscito, the famous San Carlo Theatre, Galleria Umberto I, the Royal Basilica, San Francesco di Paola, Piazza del Municipio, Castel Nuovo, and Palazzo Reale. In the historic centre, we may visit the well renowned CRISTO VELATO as well as other famous churches and monuments. A stop for a quick lunch or a mouthwatering pizza before we are allowed some free time for personal sightseeing and shopping Those who wish may carry on with a visit to the Museum of Archaeology. After such a full day, dinner awaits us in our hotel in Sorrento. A short walk to the well-known Piazza Tasso would provide a perfect ending to this fantastic day.

Day 3

Sunday – 31st October

After our buffet breakfast, we leave for Pompei where we visit the Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Pompei. Here we shall witness the disastrous state that followed the tragic eruption of Mt.Vesuvius in 79AD. After a visit to the excavations in Pompei, we realize and understand better how the Romans used to live in those days. We stand on Flegrean soil, so close to Vesuvius and this has definitely left its effects on the whole surrounding area. A great tourist attraction indeed!!!!! We continue on our road to Pozzuoli where we admire the Amphitheatre Flavio, the Temple of Serapide, the Solfatara, and Rione Terra. Back in the hotel for a well-deserved dinner and some relaxation from a long day so full of culture and history.

Day 4

Monday – November 1st

After our buffet breakfast the island of Capri – a world-famous attraction – will provide us today with the ideal setting for a relaxing day. The mecca for so many important stars and famous artists will welcome all of us today and we shall visit Capri and Anacapri making use of local minibusses. On our arrival in Marina Grande, we shall visit Piazzetta, Augustus Gardens, and Via Camerelle. Back by ferry to Sorrento, allowing a stop at a Limoncello Factory where we will be able to taste this typical special lemon liqueur and those who wish, may also buy to take home as a souvenir. A delicious dinner awaits us upon our arrival at the hotel.

Day 5

Tuesday – November 2nd

Today after our buffet breakfast, we shall set out for one of the most beautiful excursions of the whole trip – LA COSTIERA AMALFITANA. Our first stop at the famous Belvedere that overlooks the superb Positano, a town built on sea cliffs. Immediately after we proceed to Amalfi, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Free time to visit the Cathedral and the Chiostro del Paradiso where so many important personalities of Amalfi were buried. Free time for souvenir shopping and enjoying the surroundings before we continue for Ravello where we are captured by the uniquely fantastic panoramas. Back to our hotel in Sorrento, dinner and free time after.

Day 6

Wednesday – November 3rd

All good things unfortunately come to an end!!! We leave Sorrento this morning and start on our way back to Rome. We shall be stopping a couple of times on our way, one of which for a quick lunch. Hopefully, time permitting and depending on the regulations issued by the Municipality of Rome on that particular day, we may enter Rome for a quick panoramic tour of the Eternal City, where we can stop, walk and take photos. Later on, we shall continue on our way to Rome Fiumicino Airport where we hope to arrive around 7pm (19:00). Departure on KMO 615 at 21:10 (9:10pm). Expected arrival in Malta is at 22:35 (thirty-five minutes past ten).
